MELAYER carpet (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions : 290 x 147cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. An anthracite field with starry flowers, supports a sowing of polychrome stylized flowers forming trellis. A brick border with a series of multicolored stars of the Medes and another ivory floral stems undulating, make up the frame, highlighted with lace and ribbons in polychrome.
