Silk KACHAN carpet (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions : 208 x 125cm. Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundation. Density of 640 000 knots in a square meter. An ivory field in ogive, with braces, welcomes a paradisiac decoration, composed of four trees of life, with trunks, branches and intertwined branches, decorated with multicolored flowers, all more varied and colored the ones than the others, as well as a splendid bluish central vase, from where are extracted polychrome floral stems. Two double vegetalized vaults, fuchsia and sky, overhang the whole. Two old gold borders with flowers, frame the main one, fuchsia, with a frieze of interlacing branches in polychrome. Beautiful set.
