Important, exceptional and old carpet HÉRIZ entirely woven of silk (Persia), middle of the 19th century Dimensions : 440 x 305cm. Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundation. A magnificent and imposing old gold border decorated with a succession of vases with opulent bouquets of flowers, framed by three counter borders, two navy blue with garlands of flowers and another ivory decorated with floral arabesques, highlighting a rectangular navy field with scrolls and polychrome floral stems. A central oblong medallion and espalier with orange-red tint, where the previously described decoration continues and where two exuberant lotus flowers bloom, serves as a case for a superb multicolored flowered rosette placed on an ivory "silk square" with braces.
