ISPAHAN carpet (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions : 212 x 136cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. A marine field supports an indescribable multicolored vegetal lattice in circumvolution, ordered by cruciform flowers ruby vegetalized, posed in quincunx. Two ivory borders with garlands of flowers frame the main navy with a succession of polychrome blooming corollas placed on undulating floral stems. Beautiful "mosaic" colored.
