MELAYER carpet (Persia), end of the 19th century Dimensions : 200 x 135cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on cotton foundation. A magnificent rhombus medallion polylobed celadon green, pink and ivory, vegetalized with multicolored branches and its floral pendants, is enthroned in the center of a marine field covered with a trellis of flowered branches. Four eccentric spandrels old pink with bouquets of flowers complete the set. A superb main navy border with undulating scrolls, with multicolored blossoming corollas, flanked by highlights, composes the frame. Beautiful set.
