TABRIZ carpet (Persia), 1st third of the 20th century Dimensions : 190 x 140cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on cotton foundation. Four counter borders anthracite, gold, ruby, pink and green, with garlands of flowers enclose the main turquoise border, with undulations of flowering branches, exuberant and polychrome. The whole frames a field in brick mandorla with multicolored floral scrolls, where birds of paradise are frolicking. Framed by four plant spandrels ivory, anthracite and celadon green, a medallion polylobed, of the same type, sits in the center of the carpet. Very floral composition.
