ISPAHAN carpet (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions : 207 x 138cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. On an oblong field, ivory, with the decoration of ramifications of flowers with polychrome volutes is detached a floral medallion polylobed, cruciform, multicoloured. Four spandrels with floral arabesques frame the whole. Six small counter borders with checkers and garlands surround the main brick border with large flowers in polychrome.
